Buon compleanno, Venezia !
Happy 1593rd Birthday, Venice.
According to legend, Venice was founded on March 25, 421. We're raising a glass of prosecco to La Serenissima!

Karen! absolutely the only way to begin the celebration of the founding day! followed by a dance around the mermaid fountain? husband and self heading your way end of april...3 star on the margherita square or nearer.he likes to sit and sip, people watch, while i explore the streets where the makers of things textile!! any charity shops,second hand, remnants places? I'm chicago originally but irish married and living here in dublin...love fish markets myself....we're staying over one in trieste...so anysuggestions ? have been cooking out of the book Polpo..put together by a guy who haunted the bacari of venice, avoiding san marco, ....we leave the 24th april so would appreciate any hints! love the adventure with the banks..petty similar in parts of ireland!.....joan
