Springtime in Venice

Seems like we've had very little spring this year. March was almost all rain. So was the beginnning of April. Late last week we saw a few days of sunshine- about time, for sure. And this week, we're back into rain. But--- that little bit of sun brought out one of my favorite things here in Venice.

Wisteria

Finally-- the wisteria in our garden is blooming!!!  I've been enjoying all of the other Wisteria-sightings all over  Venice for the past few weeks now, hoping ours would pop also.  No such luck- until yesterday. 

Wisteria in Giardino

We were treated to the luscious smells of wisteria this morning when we opened the back door to the garden. Just yesterday, it had not yet bloomed. Ours is a little late this year, I think all the other wisteria all over Venice is already in full bloom.( Could be because Mike trimmed ours back at the end of last season. ) Happily, he didn't completely kill it off! This plant is very old, and climbs right up the nearby tree. Spring has finally arrived !!!
